Welcome to Lairg

'The view from the railway, nearer the station, is really grand. In the foreground we have the river Shin, with the woods and policies of Achany and Gruids. Behind these, and stretching from the south in a line to the north-east, we have the mountains of Ross, and of the west and north of Sutherland rising, pile upon pile, in towering splendour'. (Tourists' Guide, 1883, Hew Morrison)

Lairg parish is served by one burial ground which is situated in the village of Lairg. This is available to view in our Burial Ground section
